Description:

The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community Team within Forensic Services at The Humber Centre.
We are looking to recruit a Consultant with either Community Mental Health or Forensic experience. Although it is preferred that applicants have CCT registration in Forensic Psychiatry, this is not essential. Whilst we are looking for a full time position, we will consider applications for part time hours, we have a positive approach to flexible working arrangements in the Service.
Humber Forensic Community services are the lead provider in the region, the team has exceeded commissioner targets for successful repatriation of patients into the local community. We are embarking on an exciting project to remodel community forensic services to enhance our consultation model. You will have the opportunity to work with regional partner providers to reduce inequalities in the region and reduce admissions and length of stay to secure inpatient services. You will join an experienced and dynamic MDT comprising Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing staff, Peer Support and Psychology.
We are looking for a dynamic consultant with a strong service user focus and an interest in service development.
Together with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team, you will offer medical leadership, assessment and management of patients on the community caseload and contribute to the on call rota for the wider Forensic Service. You will be supported by Consultant colleagues working in the Forensic Division. The post holder will be responsible for the overall psychiatric care of the specialised community forensic patients. You will join the leadership team in continuing to develop high quality community services, providing patients with credible alternatives to extended periods of inpatient stay.

As a consultant working in Forensic Services Team, you will have responsibility for the provision of safe and effective care and treatment which is evidence based. You will share the vision of integrated and multi-disciplinary working and actively engage in the development of the service through research and support.
The post holder would be expected to be approved as a Responsible Clinician or be willing to undertake training to obtain Section 12(2) MHA and will be expected to renew this approval according to agreed procedures.
The ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.
