Job Description

The Community Engagement Support Volunteer provides additional support to the Community Engagement team and Area Committees, so that they are able to deliver on their aspirations and objectives to support their local community and complete the business as usual activities required to ensure the Area Committee runs effectively.

  • Completion of administrative tasks - such as preparing documentation for Area Committee meetings, handling mail/ correspondence.
  • Responding to customer / community enquires.
  • Overseeing local property requirements - such as cleaning, ensuring appropriate stores, organising maintenance and venue bookings.
  • Supporting implementation of new services or initiatives.
  • Involvement in local events o Supporting existing programs and volunteers as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant practical experience working in or with Charity/NGO/community development sector (desirable).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the valuable contribution volunteering makes to building community capability and resilience.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening skills; able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Good computer and keyboard skills - MS Word, Outlook and Excel; able to support digitisation to streamline processes/practice to benefit staff, volunteers and stakeholders (where required).
