SUMMARY

The Community Liaison assists with coordinating/executing stakeholder involvement in, and input to, the Compass database project. The Community Liaison will identify and foster key stakeholder relationships that contribute to successful implementation of various stages of the project. The Community Liaison will coordinate the arrangement of stakeholder meetings, client outreach, focus groups and an awareness campaign to promote the use of the web application. The Community Liaison will conduct system testing from the different users’ perspectives, assist with the creation of reports; compile & distribute minutes and email communications; develop/maintain a stakeholder’s website; and use digital media for community outreach within the GTA.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum post-secondary education in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience (business communications, social services, marketing)
  • Knowledge of the Ontario settlement sector and newcomer services
  • Established network within the settlement services community is preferred
  • Experience preparing promotional materials and implementing outreach strategies
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Advanced computer skills with training in office technology
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps is an advantage
  • Web design and maintenance skills an asset
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office,
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), and Constant Contact or Mailchimp.
  • Familiarity with web application development and database best practices would be an asset.
  • Experience using social media for business purposes
  • Precise recording of information and ability to produce and disseminate minutes of meetings
  • Database input and testing experience an asset
  • Multi-tasking, creativity, initiative and time management skills
  • Can-do attitude, positive outlook with a desire to work collaboratively to meet project timelines.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance and access to an automobile and be willing and able to travel to various sites across GTA on a frequent basis

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/implement a stakeholder involvement plan in collaboration with project manager
  • Design and implement an awareness campaign to promote the project to newcomer client groups for testing and eventual use
  • Act as the central communication point for community partners test users, and final users
  • Participate in testing database and web application development from the users’ perspective
  • Attend, and actively participate in various outreach and presentation events
  • Develop, maintain and update stakeholders’ webpages to keep community up-to-date on developments
  • Ensure that service standards and quality measures of stakeholder needs and demands are established, implemented and monitored.
  • Create and post outreach messages for social media sites
  • Design and distribute promotional client outreach material
  • Regularly develop and coordinate cross promotional opportunities with other organization
  • Coordinate with the IT Solutions and Services team to have updates made to the compass websites
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and client focus groups
  • Record minutes of community and project team meetings
  • Respond to inquiries and provide information on protocols related to communication, web portal, log-in credentials, meetings, and task groups
  • Assist in the preparation of special reports - statistical reports, general correspondence, outreach workplan and other project documents as required.
  • Use the internal system of Azure DevOps to report and track changes to the system
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by project manager
  • Travel around the GTA to meet and hire partnering organizations
