WHO WE ARE:
We’re not just talking about making a difference, we’re making it happen. We generate dispatchable, renewable power and create stable energy in an uncertain world. Building on our proud heritage, we have ambition to become the global leader in sustainable biomass and carbon removals.
You’ll be joining our teams of practical doers, future thinkers and business champions. We’re enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future for all, and working hard to decarbonise the planet for generations to come.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Community Liaison Officer, you’ll support a critical part of the Community Team that delivers community strategy for Drax Group in Canada. Within this role, you’ll help to build trust, and support the delivery of business objectives in Drax’s operating communities in northern BC, interior BC, and Alberta.
You’ll be responsible for promoting strong and effective communications and relationships between Drax and the local community, including participation in a local Community Advisory Panel. You will proactively build relationships with local community leaders, non-profit organizations, and traditionally under-represented voices within our operating communities. You will also be the first point of contact for a range of community enquiries.
As part of this role, you will work cross-functionally with our Sustainability and Corporate Affairs teams, including the Communications and International Affairs teams, to ensure close alignment of community engagement agendas. You will also work closely with the wider Community team and other Community Liaison Officers.
In addition, you’ll work with the Operations team members to address community concerns related to local plant operations. Coordinate with various internal teams to ensure a unified approach to community relations and corporate social responsibility efforts.
IF YOU’RE AN INTERNAL CANDIDATE, IT’S IMPORTANT TO SPEAK WITH YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER ABOUT YOUR CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND ANY INTERNAL ROLE YOU’RE APPLYING FOR.
Please note that, in certain situations, the company may pay at a rate outside of the band for this role, where appropriate. Such a decision would take into account the candidate’s experience, skills and other relevant factors.
The advertized salary range relates to British Columbia and we provide it in accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act. We recognize, however, that market forces often drive salaries in candidates’ home locations. Accordingly, the salary range may not apply outside British Columbia.
