About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity now available in partnership with Mission Australia and Department of Communities Glenorchy. The Strong Families, Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line is the first point of contact in Tasmania for people who have concerns about a child and their family.
Key Duties
Work autonomously.
Facilitate the provision of information, advice and assistance between the Advice and Referral Line and regional services to promote community education and referrals.
Ensure that the right intervention and assistance is delivered.
Utilising risk and safety assessment frameworks.
Provide consultation, information and assistance to staff and other professionals.
Provide a strengths-based response at a regional level where a child is considered at risk.

REFERAL LINE WORKER:

Conduct safety and wellbeing conversations with children, families, professionals, and community members.
Provide earlier intervention and better outcomes for families.
Direct client work including telephone contact whilst providing brief intervention and support.
About You
We are currently seeking CLO / Team Leader / Referral Line Worker to work as part of our Strong Families, Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line, joining our friendly and professional Glenorchy team. Aligning with Baptcare’s Mission, Vision and Values to provide support to vulnerable members of the community.

Please note you will need the following in order to progress your application:
Bachelor of Social Work, Diploma of Community Welfare Work or other tertiary qualifications at Diploma or above. Must include units of case management/casework practice and supervised practical work placements in relevant fields.
Ability to demonstrate comprehensive understanding and application of theory relevant to the development and delivery of child safety and family support services.
Demonstrate skills and experience in working with children and families at risk, including the ability to provide advice on complex and critical cases.
Demonstrate understanding of the social, emotional and health needs of children at risk of abuse and/or neglect.
Demonstrate capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and to form and facilitate collaborative partnerships.
Demonstrate ability to work independently, manage own workload and workflow and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery.
Contain highly developed interpersonal, advocacy and negotiation skills as well as well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate experience in engaging and working therapeutically with children and families and people with a disability.
Demonstrate experience in engaging and working therapeutically with children and families and people from CALD and or Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander people.
