THE POSITION

We are looking for two part-time temporary Community Liaison Worker to participate with the support worker team to maintain the day-to-day operations and standards of the emergency shelter site and property by performing duties such as safety and security, collaboration with community partners and neighboring Lift programs, overseeing the property site, and maintaining compliance with the policies and standards of Lift Community Services. This position works with vulnerable populations who are currently unhoused, taking a people-centered, trauma informed, harm reduction approach.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintains the security of the building
  • Monitor neighboring properties to identify and address any potential disturbances, including unauthorized shelters or camps, ensuring that our neighbors’ right to quiet enjoyment is upheld and protected
  • Collaborate with neighboring Lift programs to ensure effective communication between programs
  • Provide responsive client care during medical emergencies
  • Plans with Case Coordinator and support team on contingency services and provides crisis intervention
  • Refers residents to outside services and advocates for the resident between the individual and representatives of service/care giving agencies.
  • Completes and maintains related manual and computerized records
  • Conduct community sweeps to ensure proper disposal of harm reduction supplies and support waste cleanup efforts
