Description:

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable Phlebotomist to work within our Community Phlebotomy Service. This role will involve working in clinic sessions and undertaking home visits. You will cover a large geographical area and will be expected to work at clinics within Beeston , Stapleford and Eastwood . You will also undertake home visits to house bound patients who live in these areas. To provide high quality evidence based care to patients / service users that is responsive, effective and efficient To facilitate and support discharge and prevent inappropriate admissions by supporting patients / service user to remain as independent as possible and maintain or improve their level of function and quality of life.
This post requires a friendly, flexible person who is able to work on their initiative but also works as part of a team. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a variety of care settings. It should be noted that this is an exceptionally busy service, so you will need to have good organisational and time management skills. You will need to have good IT skills and be computer literate. Previous phlebotomy experience is essential.
To provide phlebotomy services to patients across Nottingham West in their own homes and within clinic settings.
IT skills are essential as you will be required to complete electronic documentation.
Previous experience of phlebotomy is required.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

To undertake Phlebotomy activities following training if necessary and demonstration of competency, delegated by the relevant profession.
To work without direct supervision undertaking tasks delegated by the relevant profession in order to support the team.
To deliver high quality care to patients / service users within the home and clinic setting, respecting patients / service users.
To ensure that consent is obtained before any intervention is implemented
Respect the patient / service user and carers as individuals respecting privacy and dignity at all times
Undertake a range of delegated basic clinical and technical procedures following relevant training and demonstration of competency.
Be responsible in delivering and supporting direct patient / service user care and escalate concerns to appropriate clinician.
Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during course of duty.
Work flexibly to meet individual health care needs of the patient / service user and carer.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
