Description:
An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Receptionists to join our Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health Service. You will be based at The Wakley Centre, Hayes providing contraception and testing/treatment for the management of sexually transmitted infections.
The post holder will need to communicate information effectively with members of the public, clinical and non-clinical staff using all forms of communication adapting to your audience members when necessary i.e. cultural or language barriers and anxious patients. This will include face to face, telephone queries and e-mail correspondence. Duties will vary depending on which site/service the post holder works in.
Your role will be crucial to the smooth running of the service, as you will be the first point of contact for our service users. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to ensure that all patients have a positive experience of the service.
This non-judgemental role is within the Sexual Health field and deals with directing patients to the correct member of our multi-disciplinary team and dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues. You will provide a professional and caring welcome to patients of all ages including teenagers, promoting access to services for young people.
You will be able to work independently using your own initiative while maintaining your role as a strong team player. You will have excellent telephone and IT skills.
Training will be provided for our IT systems and in contraception and sexual health processes.
This post may require working one evening shift and one Saturday per month.
