MŌ NGĀ PŪKENGA | QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
  • IAP2 (International Association for Public Participation) or equivalent.
  • Experience in using project management tools.
  • Civil Defence Emergency Management - Integrated Training Framework (ITF):

    Responsibilities:

    • Implementation of well-coordinated projects that will enable the building of community resilience.
    • Development, coordination, and support of policies, plans, and processes for hazard and risk identification to build community resilience.
    • Commissioning research and/or seek subject matter expertise regarding hazards and associated risks, identify areas requiring further research, engage with experts to gather insights and integrate findings into existing plans and policies.
    • Supporting the Group Recovery Manager, Group Welfare Manager and Waikato Lifeline Utilities Group in developing and delivering policies and plans related to CDEM Recovery, assist in the creation of recovery plans, emphasise pre-planning for effective recovery and provide support during the implementation phase.
    • Development and coordination of comprehensive project plans including work programmes that include timelines, milestones, and resource allocation aligned with project goals and objectives.
    • Enabling the ability to liaise with community members, local government, emergency services, and other stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
    • Tracking project progress against plan and work programmes to ensure milestones are met and prepare regular updates/reports on projects and work programmes.
    • Identifying and promoting opportunities where projects could align with external projects and potential co-funding of projects.
    • In addition to serving at the Waikato GECC, this position may serve at another Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) or GECC in support of a national or neighbouring regional event.
    • Availability to be included in an on-call 24/7 GECC Duty Officer roster.
