JOB SUMMARY

As our company Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational effectiveness of all equipment and facilities, coupled with the smooth introduction of new systems and machinery. Maintaining a physical environment fit for manufacturing quality food products in compliance with current Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
- Fully qualified time served Engineer with nationally recognised certification
- Basic Food Hygiene with experience of working in a food processing environment
- An understanding of efficiency
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
- Able to work on your own and as a team member
- Certified in electrical installation/ Manufacturing
- Good time management, organisational and planning skills
- Experience in all aspects of control of contractors on site
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads
- Persistence
- Ability to solve manufacturing problems
- Good practical and technical skills
- Knowledge of different computer programs
- Decision making and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of health and safety legislation and apply health and safety principles at work
- An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
- An ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent people and communication skills
- To be able to lead people and deal appropriately with conflict and difficult situations

Responsibilities:
- To ensure you are fully compliant with internal/external audits assisting auditors as requested in a professional manner
- Ensure that quality, food safety, health & safety and environmental standards are developed, maintained and enhanced and are fully complied with by contractors and staff
- Maintenance of all factory machinery and equipment
- Making scheduled checks on machinery and parts
- Liaise with external contractors in relation to Water Supply, Plumbing, Electrical and other related services such as electrical legal checks, gas regulatory requirements and water testing
- Overhauling and replacing parts
- Ensure all paperwork relating to visitors/contractors is completed at all times
- Permit to Work System
- Responding immediately to machinery and breakdowns
- Accurate recording and completion of Daily Maintenance sheets and Daily Startup sheets
- Carrying out quality inspections on machinery
- Ensure the equipment operates at a standard to achieve the customer’s required product specification
- Ensure that you maintain safe working practices and all accident and reporting procedures are adhered to
- To maintain Health & Safety on-site to ensure the wellbeing and duty of care of all employees and yourself, ensuring all HR and Ethical Policies and Procedures are adhered to
- Ensure you continuously promote a culture of high hygiene standards
- Undergo company training, and take part in refresher training as and when required by the Company as per the company Policies and Procedures
- Other ad-hoc duties as and when required
- Daily Shift on rota - 5am-2pm and 9am-6pm
- Weekend working - alternate Saturdays (5am - 10am)
