Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of compensation will exercise independent judgment and decision-making discretion, while being responsible for supporting the creation, administration and maintenance of compensation philosophy and programs for the healthcare system. Act in a leadership role to ensure that St. Elizabeths compensation program remains fair, consistent, competitive, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations and support the organizations mission, values, and strategic initiatives.
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

UTILIZE ADVANCED COMPENSATION KNOWLEDGE AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS UPDATE, MAINTAIN, AND MODERNIZES THE COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY:

  • Determine appropriate salary levels according to guidelines, policies, and strategic objectives.
  • Analyze survey data for market adjustments and pay premiums and recommend changes to ensure the maintenance of the organization’s competitive position in the marketplace.
  • Oversee job ladders, career pathing and define size and scope of work for titles.
  • Perform budget and costs analysis related to proposed compensation adjustments and changes.
  • Identify and address compression, equity or compensation issues while remaining aligned to our compensation philosophy.
  • Ensures compliance with wage and hours laws and advises management on appropriate action.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or Finance

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understand complex data and see the bigger picture.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Proven ability to utilize Excel advanced features in complex spreadsheet analyses.

KIND AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of compensation experience
  • At least 1 year of managerial experience, including demonstrated leadership experience and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities:

ACT IN A LEADERSHIP ROLE BY PROVIDING TECHNICAL GUIDANCE ON MORE COMPLEX COMPENSATION ISSUES:

  • Develops, promotes and maintains professional relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Provide instruction and answers questions, so others on the Compensation/Benefits/HR team can complete tasks quickly and effectively.
  • Represent the Compensation team with all levels of management as a subject matter expert.
  • Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making a range of decisions, escalating and updating to the Director on a regular basis.
  • Interacts with Vendors/Mgrs./Dirs./VPs to coordinate compensation plans.
  • Provide consultation to other departments/ SEP when needed.
  • Serve as a resource to HRBPs and managers in the review of job descriptions and assist in developing final descriptions while maintaining consistency of descriptions throughout the system.
