The Opportunity:
Under limited supervision, serves as a subject matter expert in compensation to staff and management. Responsible to engage in a broad range of activities that supports the university’s ability to compete for talent and maintain a competitive edge as it relates to talent rewards.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a partner to assigned HR and unit leaders on matters concerning employee compensation which includes providing recommendations on internal equity and parity inquires, market adjustment requests, and various pay strategies. Collaborate with other HR COE’s, when needed, in order to provide service and support to assigned units.
- Serves as a partner to assigned HR and unit leaders on matters regarding classification and workforce planning and decisions. This includes the ongoing analysis, and subsequent recommendations related to job establishment, job classification and maintenance, job slotting, and department reorganizations.
- Leads a variety of compensation & classification initiatives and workstreams that have campus-wide impacts, while engaging the compensation team in their participation and involvement in those projects and workstreams. Take part in other compensation and classification projects and workstreams that other Compensation Partners may be leading. Create and deliver various compensation trainings and programs.
- Provides interpretation of university policy, bargaining agreements, guidelines, and practices related to compensation to campus stakeholders and partners. Participates in revising and creating compensation programs and guidelines to ensure best practices.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior project management and leadership experience using persuasion and influence skills, particularly in a non-direct reporting structure.
- Previous experience in Human Resources, data analysis, or accounting and finance.
- Knowledge of Human Resources best practices preferably in Classification and Compensation.
- Expertise in creating and presenting material to all levels, including executives.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to foster and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders.
- Workday or similar ERP cloud-based software and Microsoft Office experience.
- Moderate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include formulas, pivot tables, and basic data analysis.
- Proficiency in building positive relationships, communicating effectively across all levels, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with project management, making decisions, exercising independent judgment, and utilizing critical thinking skills.
