You possess an analytical mind and believe in fairness when it comes to providing the right compensation for the right role. You are passionate about building partnerships to ensure a great employee experience. Given your expertise and unique skillset, we know you’ll excel in our Compensation Specialist position.
In this role, you will partner with senior leaders, managers and HR groups to support all things related to compensation. You will offer your expertise in the areas of job evaluation, salary framework as well as take on wage administration duties. In this role, you will:
Provide compensation advice and support to leaders and HR Business Partners in job evaluation activities including job level placement and salary analysis.
Conduct various complex compensation-related analysis that may involve financial modeling scenarios and identifying cost impact of total reward program recommendations.
Participate in the development and implementation of salary administration guidelines and policies, as well as preparing and documenting requirements in support of compliance and audit practices.
Conduct compensation analysis, market comparisons and reporting, including the development and maintenance of compensation dashboard.
Administer the annual salary review and short-term incentive programs.
Responsible for participating in various compensation surveys; providing appropriate compensation and wage information; stay current with industry trends and best practice through market research and networking.
Provide support for quarterly board reporting and scorecard results.
Investigate compensation and pay issues and work through solutions in collaboration with Payroll, HRIS and Labour Relations. Collaborate with HR teams on solutions and inter-departmental efficiencies. What it takes:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources from a recognized program plus a minimum of three (3) years recent, related experience in compensation
Experience in exempt job evaluation (including point factor and classification).
Designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is an asset
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in compensation administration
Excellent organization skills and multi-tasking abilities to deal with a high volume of tasks and manage multiple projects or assignments at the same time.
Advanced computer skills, specifically utilizing MS Excel for data analysis and modelling
Proven interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective work relationships and accomplish team goals.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
