StriveX is partnering with a corporate bank that is looking to hire a compliance AVP. The role reports into the Head of Legal & Compliance and due to the small size of the team, the incumbent will have the chance to do a generalist role which will involve AML/ CFT advisory, maintaining of policies and framework and doing CDD/TM reviews.
Role & Responsibilities
- Advise and support businesses on all compliance matters including internal controls as well as regulatory requirements
- Develop and formulate AML/CFT policy and keep the bank’s AML/CFT framework up to date.
- Review and approve customer due diligence performed by relationship managers from Corporate Banking and Wealth Management Department.
- Review name matches, sanction and transaction monitoring alerts.
- Submit suspicious transaction reports to STRO.
- Conduct compliance training for bank.
- Work with IT to enhance AML system.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors on audit issues; implement audit recommendations
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their implications to bank
Key Requirements
- Degree holder with at least 5-8 years of relevant working experience in similar capacity, with good exposure to AML/CFT matters.
- Well-rounder with exposure to various aspects of compliance responsibility including compliance advisory, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring as well as compliance monitoring
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act and Financial Advisers Act) as well as internal control requirements within Corporate Banking and Wealth Management business
- Good understanding of banking operations and internal controls requirements
- Experience with on-boarding corporate banking and wealth management customers
