This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the AXIS Compliance team in our Dublin office. This is a new role and a fantastic opportunity for an eager compliance professional to join a highly experienced and collaborative team in a global organisation. This role may suit a Compliance Analyst who may wish to take the next step in advancing their career.
The Compliance team at AXIS aims to provide effective and pragmatic compliance advisory, support, oversight and monitoring. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Ireland, the primary responsibility of the role will be to ensure AXIS complies with its legal and regulatory obligations and support the wider Compliance function in all aspects of the Compliance Universe.

What will you do in this role?

  • Support the design, implementation, monitoring and delivery of AXIS’s Compliance Plan to ensure the effective management of AXIS’s compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Support the enhancement and oversight of the AXIS regulatory compliance and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Support the implementation and embed applicable accountability regimes – Individual Accountability Framework in Ireland and the Senior Management & Certification Regime in the UK.
  • Support in providing legal, regulatory advice and support to the business, ensuring advice is provided in a commercial, practical, and timely manner.
  • Engage with AXIS’s regulators in a positive manner and lead in the response to regulatory requests, regulatory reviews, and inspections.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of regulatory applications.
  • Support day-to-day core compliance oversight and advisory.
  • Support with monitoring regulatory developments and assist with regulatory change projects in response to business needs in collaboration with other functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance reports to senior management, Executive Committees, and Boards of Directors.
  • Support in the performance of second-line Compliance monitoring activities.
  • Branch compliance support for Zurich, UK, and Belgium branches.
  • Assist in any ad-hoc projects relating to implementation of any upcoming regulatory developments.

About You:

What you need to have:
o Educated to degree level in the areas of Law/Business/ Compliance-related field.
o LCOI/QFA designation or willingness to work towards achieving such a designation.
o Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations specifically relating to insurance/financial services.
o Experience in improving or implementing processes or procedures.
o Excellent communication skills and strong ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
o Demonstrable ability to work well under pressure as part of a fast-paced team.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Highly organised with an ability to work on own initiative to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
o Working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
What we prefer you to have:
o At least 1 years’ experience in a similar position within the general insurance market or financial services.
o Experience with dealing with the Central Bank of Ireland or other UK/European regulators.
o Experience with presenting to senior management or Board of Directors.
