Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in compliance, safety, or a regulatory role.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or other relevant safety/compliance certifications (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations, OSHA standards, fire safety codes, life safety systems, and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities:

The Compliance and Life Safety Officer at Delta State University is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and building compliance. This position oversees life safety programs, manages fire alarm systems, acts as the electrical and fiber locator for the Office of Information Technology (OIT), and ensures a safe working and learning environment across the campus.
