Description:

Mitie – Care & Custody are recruiting for an Audit and Assurance Officer
Salary is £35,000 working a 40 hour week Monday to Friday
The role is based at Manston STHF and you will be reporting to the Performance and Compliance Manager.
You must be Must be willing, and able, to pass DBS & Vetting up to Counter Terrorism Level (CTC).
As the Audit and Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out audits to schedule in order to achieve compliance with contractual, Home Office, Company, legislative and relevant standards: maintaining and improving them in line with latest practices.
As the Audit and Assurance Officer, you will be required to carry out audits assigned in a timely manner to ensure compliance to contractual, Home Office, Company, and legislative requirement.
You will contribute to a climate of innovation and continuous improvement so that all staff are focussed on meeting contractual requirements, adding value and delivering best practice.
Provide support and advice to staff and local managers to ensure quality standards are met in compliance with relevant legislation.
Collate and analyse audit information in a timely manner, making recommendations where non-compliance or opportunities are identified, tracking them to completion with the assigned employees, escalating any concerns and constructing detailed and effective action plans.
Assist in the production of the Monthly and Annual Compliance Manager’s report, ensuring all key information is accurately recorded and reported to the Home Office and relevant stakeholders.
You will proactively assist stakeholders. Constructively respond to questions and action points highlighted within reports from the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB.) His Majesty’s Inspector of Prisons (HMIP) as well as the Home Office External Contract Monitoring Team. Help to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
You will prepare for, and play an active part in, the Centre’s external accreditation programmes such as ISO 9001 / 14001 / 27001 in line with Mitie corporate accreditation

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Clear Communicator: Both verbal and written English of a high standard
  • Basic-Intermediate IT Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
