SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years’* experience working in a Compliance Surveillance/Monitoring/Assurance, Advisory or Audit role within a UK regulated financial institution, including a several years’ experience in designing and managing risk assessments.
  • SME knowledge of market abuse regulations and how they apply to Marex
  • Knowledge of various assets classes including Structured Products, Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Derivatives and exchanges and markets globally
  • Broad knowledge of compliance regulation and in-depth understanding of compliance risks, assessments methodology and assurance activities.
  • Proactive problem-solver, self-motivated and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize to deliver high quality results with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Use subject matter expert knowledge to enhance and implement the firm’s Market Abuse Risk Assessment process including:

  • Build out the Market Abuse risk taxonomy and risk scenarios
  • Gather data on the business lines to enable informed assessment of the business activities they conduct including in-scope products, relevant systems, markets and exchanges
  • Identify, articulate and map relevant controls owned by first and second line for each business line
  • Assist in the assessment of those controls and the risks
  • Ensure delivery of timely MI
  • Coordinate and manage the MARA process through to completion
  • Build strong and collaborative working relationships within Compliance and the business to ensure quality output of the MARAs.
  • Provide key stakeholders with regular reporting on assurance activities undertaken, including key
  • findings and recommendations.
  • Support the Head of Compliance Assurance by undertaking ad-hoc compliance related activities such as regulatory requests, investigations etc.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the business and risk & control functions for integrated and consistent risks assessments approach

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

The focus of this position is to enhance and implement the firm’s Market Abuse Risk Assessment to ensure it exceeds regulatory standards and expectations and provides to provide the Group Head of Compliance the firm’s senior management with a well-articulated overview of the market abuse risks at the firm.
