Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Fully understand Compliance’s cloud-based data lake and its datasets, including base definition, contents, structures, joins, and documentation.
  • Use SQL or fourth generation languages, coordinate the use of data available in our cloud data lake and on prem environments.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the Data & Insights team regarding the data lake and actively research the data available in other Medtronic data lakes.
  • Document Compliance’s global data needs into clear requirements, and work with IT and Medtronic’s data analytic teams to understand where that data lives, how it is structured and defined, and how to safely access and transfer it into the Compliance data lake.
  • Support with guidance from Compliance and the Data & Insights team, the transformation of the data in our data lake into the views, algorithms, metrics, and performance indicators needed to identify and mitigate Compliance risk within Medtronic’s interactions with health care professionals and organizations.
  • Work with our data scientists to explore how AI and advanced analytic techniques can push the envelope of Compliance analytics into new frontiers.
  • Proactively consider ways to minimize cost and increase efficiency through performance tuning of SQL, indexes and databases in general.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree administrative areas
  • 1 or more years of experience with data lakes or large databases including strong experience with SQL, Python/R, or equivalent database query languages.
  • 1 or more years of experience with data exploration & mining, data cleanup activities, and the effective communication of data insights to a non-technical audience.
  • Fluent in English level
  • Experience with data visualization or dashboard development using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, or other visualization platforms
  • Knowledge with SQL
  • MS Office knowledge

Familiarity with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and data science tools or platforms such as ChatGPT, Dataiku, or Tensorflow; Experience in Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, or other risk-related fields, experience in a global Healthcare or Medical Technology company is a plus.
