Description:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Previous experience of a compliance role (operator, or regulator) with understanding of KYC, AML, Safer Gambling and Fraud, or a compliance/ relevant professional qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Native or fluent speaker of the Dutch language is preferable.
  • Solutions focused, with a holistic approach to risk assessments.
  • A ‘spider in the web’ mentality, valuing business partnering and support rather than the creation of silos.
  • Enjoy and be comfortable with the accountability of working and making decisions autonomously in an environment that will always have a level of ambiguity.
  • A self-driven mentality with the confidence to drive your own agenda rather than through micro management support and direction.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English, with a keen interest in business partnering.
  • The ability to challenge appropriately with proven negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Compliance Manager you will join a team of compliance specialists based throughout Europe, and you will share our passion for compliance and teamwork.
You will work on a number of projects which touch on all areas of the customer journey, using your management skills to ensure positive and compliant outcomes. You will play a crucial role in helping the company adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards within a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the compliance framework, conducting regular audits, and monitoring operations to mitigate risks associated with legal and regulatory compliance.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Work closely with the Head of Compliance and wider Compliance Team to uphold standards and embed a culture of compliance across the business.
  • Hold overall responsibility for compliance of your markets. Provide support and guidance to various business areas, covering the full operational compliance life cycle including (but not limited to) responsible gaming, AML, customer complaints, regulatory proceedings, and marketing content.
  • Stay updated on evolving legislation, regulations, and industry standards, translating them into policy changes while identifying risks and improvements, and partnering with key stakeholders, including the Management Team, to support the commercial landscape and address compliance challenges.
  • Advise the business on regulatory compliance for existing and future licensing, support related projects, handle compliance escalations, and collaborate with teams like Operations, Legal, Technical Compliance, and Assurance to maintain alignment.
  • Manage the workload and ensure deadlines are met promoting good governance procedures.
  • Interpret evolving legislation, regulations, and industry guidance, translating them into internal policies and supporting their implementation while monitoring industry and internal KPIs to maintain regulatory oversight.
  • Support in maintaining a positive relationship with regulator/s, leading on regulatory engagements as required and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in other projects as needed from time to time.
