Description:

A Compliance Manager based in Germany (or Luxembourg) will support the compliance coverage of GLL`s Real Estate business, advising and overseeing compliance requirements for EMEA-based businesses, but also globally. You will be primarily supporting a German real estate Alternative Investment Fund Manager and a Luxembourg Management Company in a a wide role with plenty of responsibility, focusing on preparing and implementing compliance monitoring plans and providing periodic reports, and in turn playing a crucial role in facilitating collaboration and consistency across our regional teams, as well as improving our compliance control environment.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will be appointed as the Deputy Compliance Officer and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer in Germany, as well as the role of ‘Person responsible for the permanent compliance function’ and Compliance Officer in Luxembourg. You will be responsible for the implementation and execution of a compliance risk assessment and compliance monitoring plan (including Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing), in addition to the day-to-day operation of GLL’s regulatory compliance programme including the preparation of regulatory compliance reports .You will also be required to keep abreast of upcoming, new and revised rules, regulations and directives applicable to the business, and facilitate changes as required, as well as assisting with the delivery of an effective tailored on-site compliance training programme, all of which will require you to build a strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
What you offer

  • 4+ years compliance experience gained within the asset management industry, preferably within a real estate manager or within a legal, regulatory or consultancy environment with real estate focus
  • Extensive knowledge of the German and Luxembourgish regulatory regimes relating to asset management, including an ability to demonstrate solid understanding of both Alternative Investment Fund Managers’ and also Markets in Financial Instruments’ directives.
  • You must be a resident in Germany or Luxembourg, and be fluent in English and German (spoken and written). Luxembourgish or French language skills are an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and the ability to be proactive, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently, determine priorities and meet deadlines
