Compliance Manager (Privacy)

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provide quality and timely Privacy advice to internal stakeholders
• Continue to enhance the Privacy framework, including supporting documentation and training materials.
• Contribute to the annual Compliance Plan with respect to Privacy.
• Collaborate with the Privacy Officer to respond to external privacy queries and complaints.
• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments as required.
• Perform 2nd line assurance and monitoring regarding Privacy obligations.
• Identify and recommend improvements while providing Privacy advice.
• Design and manage Privacy education and awareness programs.
• Collate and escalate Privacy compliance insights to relevant forums.
• Exceed stakeholders’ expectations by offering alternative compliant solutions.
• Role model A&G values in dealings with all stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least 5 years in a Privacy legal, compliance or , risk, role, ideally within financial services or insurance.
• Thorough knowledge of Privacy legislative requirements (including Australian Privacy Principles).
• Competent drafting skills (policy and process writing/frameworks).
• Effective decision-making and negotiation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage change and support team adaptation.

Auto & General’s Privacy Manager will play a lead role in managing our Privacy framework and will be the key person working with and assisting the business in understanding and meeting its Privacy obligations. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance Advisory & Oversight, you will manage compliance-based advice on Privacy, enhance our Privacy Framework, and provide oversight and monitoring across our Privacy obligations.
