Description:

What we’re looking for.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the Affinity network of childcare centres demonstrate fire safety and food safety compliance in conjunction with external partners. This role is also responsible for contributing to resource development, training and advice around safety related practices and projects.

The role

  • Ensure Operations understands licensing regulations and requirements, including providing Education and guidance as required
  • Ensure licenses are valid for food safety, annual fire testing, trade waste and buses
  • Obtaining and maintaining licenses for food, fire testing, internal and external food and fire audit
  • Lodge new fire and food approval applications for Greenfield sites
  • Lodge transfer of fire and food approvals for all new acquisitions or divestments
  • Keep a central repository for all licences
  • Track and monitor annual licence renewals, council or external audits completed on a 3, 6 or 12 monthly bases
  • Understand state-based food safety requirements
  • Review food safety documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Understand state-based fire safety requirements for commercial properties
  • Contribute to the development of resources to support improved operational practice, including online learning resources
  • Collaborate with Operations and CSO teams on the safety needs of the business

Qualifications and experience you’ll need to be successful

  • Ability to understand and interpret legislative documentation and other complex documents
  • Proven experience working with Food, Fire, Safety or Compliance requirements
  • Experience using ServiceNow is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the early childhood sector (Desirable)
  • Experience in early childhood settings (Desirable)
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (Desirable)
  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (Desirable)
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven and motivated to learn and grow
