Job Description
The Clery Act Compliance Specialist will assist the Clery Act Compliance Coordinator with monitoring all laws and regulations under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, and associated regulations. This position will support the institution’s comprehensive program for gathering and disclosing campus safety and security information, crime statistics, and the timely preparation, submission, and dissemination of required reports, documents, and records.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to analyze and classify large amounts of data from multiple sources to ensure compliance goals are met.
  • Assist with the preparation, publication, and distribution/notification of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR).
  • Tracking university travel and maintaining a database for crime statistic requests from various law enforcement agencies.
  • Gathering crime and disciplinary referral information for statistical analysis from internal and external resources such as Student Conduct, Housing and Residential Life, Title IX, PVAMU Police Department, and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Identification of campus security authorities.
  • Tracking university travel and maintaining a database for crime statistic requests from various law enforcement agencies.
  • Presenting in person and facilitating online campus security authority training. Excellent oral and written communications skills, and experience with creating and performing informational presentations, including the ability to respond to questions in both small and large settings.
  • Assisting with the development of training materials.
  • Ability to collaborate with the Clery Compliance Coordinator to plan and accomplish objectives, and assist with coordinating ongoing multiple, large, and complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Assist with the creation of a PVAMU Clery Act GIS mapping system.
  • Monitors compliance with federal, state, and TAMUS regulatory standards, including, but not limited to, laws, statutes, codes, policies, procedures, rules, and directives, as well as compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develops a plan of action to bring any non-compliant Clery-related areas into compliance.
  • Provides reports on all compliance efforts as needed; serves on committees as needed. Participating in regularly scheduled meetings of the Clery Compliance committee.
  • Serving as backup to the Clery Compliance Coordinator.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four years of related experience in compliance programs and/or activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
