We are looking for:
For our Compliance officer LeasePlan Bank vacancy we are looking for a new colleague at our Amsterdam based office. LeasePlan Bank is part of Ayvens (with its major shareholder being Society Générale), a leading player in the mobility sector, and is responsible for attracting retail deposits in the Dutch and German consumer market. There is a client base of over 270.000 customers with total assets of more than EUR 13 billion.
The purpose of the compliance function within LeasePlan Bank is to safeguard LeasePlan Bank’s integrity and reputation and to help protect against financial losses, to warrant and promote the integrity, expertise and professionalism requirements of applicable laws, regulations, codes of conduct, good management practices and internal policies and guidelines within the entire LeasePlan group of companies.

As Compliance Officer LeasePlan Bank you are responsible for:

  • Be the Subject matter specialist; monitors significant changes and/or other developments in relevant laws, regulations and business practices with regard to integrity risks and is able to ‘translate’ these requirements into clear and concise messages to the organisation;
  • Policy owner delegate; responsible for the development and maintenance of a structured Compliance policy framework and supporting materials;
  • Advice, monitoring & challenge; be the trusted advisor for the first line business owners and the local compliance officers. Support and challenge business management with their identification, assessment and mitigation of Compliance risks;
  • AML, Sanctions, CDD, CTF;
  • Culture & Behaviour, Bribery & Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, Conduct, Whistle Blowing, Remuneration, Governance, Duty of Care/Treating Clients Fairly etc.;
  • Be the subject matter expert with regard to existing and upcoming relevant laws, regulations and business practices;
  • Have regular meetings with senior management and the management level below to discuss Compliance topics, emerging trends and understand business developments that have Compliance risk and/or control implications;
  • Support ongoing programs/projects and represent Compliance on various levels within the program governance;
  • Support the content side of the Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis (SIRA) and regular reporting to senior management;
  • Monitor Compliance risks, Analysing trends and patterns in Compliance issues and reporting meaningful and value-added insights to stakeholders and colleagues;
  • Participate in and/or lead specific integrity investigations, being the subject matter expert;
  • Support the further development and implementation of the Group’s Compliance Strategy and Compliance roadmap.

To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and experience:

With your understanding of the Risk Management Cycle, including risk-based approach, you have the right profile for this role. You are curious, inquisitive and able to form an independent opinion. You are an expert support for the Ayvens Compliance Pillar lead with regard to the European Central Bank / Joint Supervisory Team.

  • At least 3- 5 years of working experience in an Internal Control function (Risk, Audit, Compliance) at a financial institution;
  • University degree (at least Master’s);
  • This position requires experience working in an international context;
  • Understands the need to have (or to obtain) business acumen;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence senior management.
