Description:
BUXTON
Alliance Norse is our latest joint venture partnership with High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. The newly established joint venture will provide repairs and maintenance across the Councils’ properties, caretaking and cleaning services as well as offering an improved housing repairs service.
We are looking for a Compliance Officer to be responsible for ensuring compliance across housing and public buildings within our contracts. This includes conducting audits, quality inspections, and verifying that all inspections, reports, and certifications meet regulatory and company standards. Key areas of oversight include electrical systems (EICRs), gas safety (LGSR), asbestos management, fire safety, legionella, lift safety, accessibility and disability compliance, and radon.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compliance Checks: Conduct routine inspections and compliance checks at various sites to ensure adherence to health and safety, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
- Documentation and Records: Accurately complete and maintain compliance documentation. Update records and systems to reflect the current compliance status of all properties.
- Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with external contractors to ensure timely completion of compliance works and cyclical maintenance. Verify adherence to safety standards and contract terms.
- Customer Service: Handle inquiries and complaints from tenants, councillors, and the public regarding compliance matters. Arrange appointments and address concerns while maintaining high standards of service.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity. Support with updates to compliance management systems such as True Compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate access for compliance inspections and resolve issues.
- Administrative Duties: Process orders with contractors, verify payment requests, and provide administrative support as required.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
- Experience in a compliance-related role within housing or public buildings is preferred.
- Experience in a customer-focused environment is advantageous.
- Relevant health and safety certifications such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate. CSCS Card, First Aid Certification, Fire Marshal training.
- Understanding of building regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance practices. Knowledge of landlord obligations and Right to Repair regulations.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Strong organisational and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team
- Full UK driving licence to meet travel requirements for the role
