Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Compliance Paralegal to provide essential legal and compliance support to our attorneys. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting legal research, reviewing statutes and regulations, drafting compliance procedures, and assisting with the implementation of regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for someone with strong legal research skills, a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, and excellent time management and communication abilities.
This position is in Frankfort, KY and is onsite five days a week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification required.
  • 2+ years of experience in legal research, compliance, or a related field, ideally within the life insurance or financial services industries.
  • Strong understanding of legal statutes, regulations, and compliance practices.
  • Exceptional legal research skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in the life insurance or financial services industry, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks specific to insurance.
  • Project management skills.
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research, particularly in statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to the life insurance industry.
  • Review, interpret, and analyze state and federal laws to ensure the company remains compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of internal compliance procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to provide general legal support, including drafting memos, summaries, and reports on various compliance matters.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise on potential impacts to the business.
  • Maintain organized records of legal research and ensure proper documentation of compliance activities.
  • Assist in preparing compliance-related reports, filings, and audits as needed.
  • Utilize spreadsheet software to organize data, track compliance efforts, and generate reports.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties as required.
