JOB DESCRIPTION

The Compliance Quality Assurance (CQA) Senior Testing Manager is responsible for management and execution of compliance related testing activities within the Independent Risk Review and Assessment (IRRA) second line organization. Many of the reviews completed by this team will be focused on evaluating consumer customer experiences with an eye towards mitigating UDAAP (Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices) risk. Accordingly, the ideal candidate will possess considerable experience in this risk discipline. Key roles and responsibilities include partnering with the business lines and other Risk, Compliance, and Audit Professionals to help create, implement, maintain, review, and oversee an effective risk management framework.
The Senior Testing Manager is responsible for managing a team of Testing Analysts that execute projects and/or activities that confirm compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. The candidate is also responsible for the identification of control and process weaknesses through testing activities and identify solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate. Further, the Senior Testing Manager is responsible for effective verbal communication of testing results, including well-written draft reports, and for responding to and/or escalating significant risks as appropriate. Manages a team of Testing Analysts, and has responsibility for staffing, performance management, prioritizing testing activities, and providing guidance and training.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than 12 years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Considerable understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business. Primary laws/regs include: Reg X/RESPA, Reg B/ECOA, Reg E/EFTA, Reg V/FCRA, Reg Z/TILA, Reg DD/TISA, Reg CC, Reg II, SCRA, TCPA, FDPA, Fair & Responsible Banking/UDAAP, State Laws, etc
  • Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong leadership and management skills pertaining to processes, projects and people, with considerable people leader experience
  • Effective skills at managing stressful situations
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
  • Methods of leveraging data to draw holistic compliance conclusions
  • Applicable professional certifications (CRCM, CIA, etc.) are preferred
