In this exciting chapter of continued growth and expansion for Chase UK and Nutmeg, we’re looking for a passionate International Consumer Bank - Global Financial Crimes Compliance Advisory (GFCC) – Associate level.
The EMEA Compliance function within J.P. Morgan ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture by working closely with the business, legal, risk and audit functions. Within Compliance, the regional GFCC Department is responsible for financial crimes advisory, monitoring and investigations, sanctions, bribery and corruption, training, independent testing and KYC quality.
As a Compliance Risk Management Associate within the Financial Crimes Advisory team, you will report to the EMEA Financial Crimes Advisory Lead and assist in providing GFCC advisory services to the business. To this end, the role will collaborate with various teams across the line of business as well as in the bank and on a regional basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Degree level education (or equivalent) or direct relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK financial crimes regimes, including UK Money Laundering Regulations and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group guidance and/or industry practice.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, ideally knowledge of, or experience within Retail and retail banking products.
  • Experience in assessing risk and making sound decisions in relation to ML/TF, with ability to escalate when appropriate.
  • Ability to take initiative, direction and deliver against tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to make decisions, multi-task and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in concisely summarising complex topics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Professional qualification in AML or Financial Crime is preferred.
  • Experience in advisory and/or other AML/KYC Compliance activities strongly preferred
  • Excellent command of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Jira and Confluence is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial crime oversight and advisement to the LOB and/or functions such as Financial Crime Operations as Chase UK and Nutmeg scales.
  • Provide advice and guidance on adherence to firm wide policies such as the Global KYC Standards, UK laws and regulations related to financial crime, and keep up to date on changes to relevant laws and regulations and the impact to the business.
  • Review and provide feedback to LOB on procedures related to key processes e.g. EDD Reviews, Periodic Reviews, PEP SpDD, Negative Media etc.
  • Review of customer escalations involving AML events, negative news, sanctions and/or higher risk clients, where applicable.
  • Assess 1LoD financial crime related management information and identify and escalate AML/KYC and/or control issues.
  • Perform and/or assist compliance monitoring of certain financial crime areas of focus, where applicable.
  • Support submissions to relevant local, regional, or global Committees and regulators, including relevant management information.
  • Support review, drafting and updating of internal procedures and manuals.
  • Support and participate in the risk assessment of new business, products, or project initiatives by providing advice from an AML, Sanctions and KYC perspective.
  • Provide Advisory support/feedback on AML/KYC Risk Assessments, Regulatory Exams, advisements to other 2LOD/3LOD functions.
  • Assist in providing relevant training to staff as necessary.
