POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of senior personnel, this position is responsible for conducting research data analysis in the areas of complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Conducts research data analysis in complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics.
• Collects and manages data from different sources and develops analytical pipelines and computational methods.
• Process and analyze data to derive meaningful insights, interpret the results and effectively communicate findings.
• Coordinates various research projects and ensure established timelines are met.
• Assists with grant proposal development and manuscript writing.
• Assists with preparing results for a written paper for publication, in a presentation at a meeting, or through personal contact with faculty members and other researchers.
• Manages research protocols and computational codes.
• Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATION/SKILLS:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with at least one computer programming language.
• Knowledge and skills in genomic data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, scientific professionalism, and deadlines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in genetics, statistics, bioinformatics or related field required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year in bioinformatics, genomics, or a related biomedical data analysis, including single-cell sequencing required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
