ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four years of related experience in developing, maintaining and trouble-shooting Computer Science software tools and supporting users in their use
- Demonstrated experience and ability to program in Python, Ruby, Javascript, and Unix/Linux shell
- Experience writing and troubleshooting Python and Ruby ‘packages’
- Demonstrated experience and ability in building application software using web frameworks, and troubleshooting web applications
- Solid working knowledge of Linux, and famliarity with MacOS and Microsoft Windows
- Demonstrated ability to install and manage software packages on Linux, Windows and MacOS systems, including installation from source
- Demonstrated experience in software team collaboration using Scrum methodology, and demonstrated experience in the use of Git and GitHub
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize effectively when working with multiple tasks and projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating initiative and creativity
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills under pressure, including a keen ability and interest in helping students and faculty, and unfailing good judgment, discretion and tact
- Demonstrated flexibility in working with changing demands
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, to a diverse group of clients, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to persons with limited technical backgrounds, and to translate/interpret accurately into technical terms requirements and processes originally conveyed in non-technical terms
- Ability to work effectively both independently when necessary and as an effective member of a team, at times in a project leadership capacity
- Ability to learn continually ’on-the-job’, on own initiative, often without instructors, courses, texts, or other formal educational resources, to keep abreast of often rapid changes in requirements, software and technology in a highly dynamic leading Computer Science department

Responsibilities:
