School District 87 Stikine is accepting applications for a full-time continuing position for a Computer Technician II at an hourly rate of $44.03 based in Dease Lake, B.C. This position is 40 hours per week, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. However, there will be times when overtime will be required. Terms and conditions of employment, including municipal pension, travel allowance and a full benefit package, are governed by C.U.P.E. (Local 3252-02) collective agreement. The successful applicant must be willing to undergo a criminal records check. The incumbent will maintain computer networks, repair and maintain computers, train staff, maintain the district web site and provide software support and carry out other related duties as assigned.

We welcome candidates who have:

  • Successfully completed Grade 12 and a two year college diploma/certificate or equivalent in

computer technology or a computer systems technology diploma or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience in the field of networking and computer systems
  • Ability to interact effectively and harmoniously with teaching, support and administrative staff in providing technical training for the installation and use of hardware and educational software
  • A willingness and ability to learn new skill sets
  • A valid BC driver’s license

Priority will be given to candidates with experience/knowledge in:

  • Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server (setup/install), Intune, Linux Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File/Print, and software common to the education environment
  • batch script commands and PowerShell
  • design and installation of multi-platform and local and wide area networks
  • educational and administrative software and the ability to troubleshoot from a technical and practical point of view
  • design of web pages (HTML, CSS, WordPress)
  • Microsoft Exchange, Xen Orchestra, Palo Alto Firewalls, Connect Wise, Global Protect, Intune; Insignia Library Software, Papercut
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Office 365, Windows OS and iOS (Intune IOS Management)
