Description:

Purpose: Performs field and sustainment level maintenance support of COMSEC / C5ISR equipment in order to meet the requirements and standards set forth by the USG and Amentum.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

REQUIRED BASELINE EDUCATION:

A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. 3 years’ experience in Electronic Maintenance field, required.

  2. U.S. Military Veterans must be qualified via DD-214 in one of the below Electronic Maintenance fields:

  • Army MOS – 94 series (E/F/M/W/Z), 25 series (C/F/S/U/W/X/Z), or Warrant Officer 948B.
  • Air Force MOS – 1P0X1 Air Crew Flight Equipment.
  • Marines MOS – 2171, 2831 or 2805 Warrant Officer.
  • Navy & Coast Guard – Electronics Technician (ET) or Electronics Warrant (ELC).
  1. To qualify without a DD214 candidates must have contracting experience maintaining special electronic devices and/or communications and electronics systems with a primary contracting company providing support to the U.S. Military. This experience must be reflected and verified in the resume of candidate.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Must have experience on how to determine the cause and location of malfunctions, diagnose the extent of faults, and convey the level of maintenance required in one of the following specialized fields:
  • Installation and troubleshooting of various C5ISR systems to include but not limited to: AN/VRC-92F, AN/VRC-103, AN/VRC-104, AN/VRC-110, AN/VRC-111, AN/VRC-148, AN/VAS-5 Driver’s Vision Enhancer, AN/VIC-3 Intercommunications System, Blue Force Tracker (BFT) systems; AN/UYK- 128(v)3 (FBCB2), AN/UYK-128A (v)3 (JCR), & AN/UYK-128B(v)3 (JCB-P).
  • Repair and services of NVDs at the TM 10/20 (e.g. AN/PVS-14 / AN/PVS-7).
  • COMSEC repair and troubleshooting of RT-1523 series radio transmitters and all ancillary devices.
  1. Experience in the use of the AN/GRM-122 test set and the AN/PRM-36 test or equivalent to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot various ground to ground radio communication systems is preferred.
  2. Must have knowledge of the USG security requirements of the handling and storage of COMSEC equipment classified as Sensitive and non-keyed Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) items.
  3. Must have knowledge of integrated circuits, electronic principles and theory, including solid state components as applied to control, function, and logic circuit; digital and analog circuits; functional use of complex electronic test equipment; electronic power, data processing and communications equipment; principles and methods of electronics systems maintenance and repair; and safety procedures.
  4. Have the ability to navigate through and understand the use of complex Army technical manuals and be able to follow logical procedures with regard for consequences in problem solving; making calculations; and interpreting schematics in the use of high voltage equipment as it pertains to multiple C5ISR ground to ground communications
    systems and subsystems.
  5. Must be fluent in the English language with the ability to read, write, and speak with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social, and professional topics.
  6. Must be able to prioritize responsibilities to handle a demanding workload.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs day-to-day maintenance operations of various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems by following directions, policies, procedures, and mission directives.
  • Utilize Technical Manuals (TM), Technical Bulletins (TB), Army Regulations (AR), and other required security policies to repair, handle, store, and inventory various COMSEC equipment.
  • Performs field and sustainment level maintenance on radio receivers, transmitters, COMSEC equipment, Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI), Night Vision Devices (NVD), and other associated equipment by performing the modification or termination of communication cables, power lead assemblies, and associated wiring of various vehicular communication electronic systems and subsystems.
  • Conduct sustainment level maintenance installations, verifications, and troubleshooting of various C5ISR ground to ground radio communications electronics systems and subsystems in designated tactical vehicles.
  • Maintain telecommunications, microcomputer, fiber optic and other systems used in artillery controls, night vision equipment, and global positioning system equipment.
  • Utilize various electronic test equipment to include specialized electronic test sets, multi-meters, power meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, Test, Measurement, & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
  • Navigate through and comprehend the required use of complex Army technical manuals and be able to follow logical procedures in the use of high voltage equipment as it pertains to multiple C5ISR communications systems and subsystems.
  • Responsible for performing Modification Work Orders (MWO) as directed per work orders, verify functionality, and tag equipment with the proper color tag to show serviceability.
  • Adhere to current principles, practices, and procedures to be employed, quality of work expected, and tools to be used for diagnosing chronic equipment failure.
  • Adhere to a safety-first mentality and promote a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost- time injuries and ensure work is performed in strict compliance with safety in mind.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
