Description:

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS DE L’EMPLOI:

  • Responsable de la mise en œuvre, de la configuration, de l’intégration, de la personnalisation et de la maintenance du logiciel PLM
  • Créer des dessins 3D et 2D de composants et d’assemblages selon les processus de fabrication et les normes de dessin
  • Participer à la révision et à la modification des dessins existants
  • Encadrer et former les ingénieurs aux meilleures pratiques de dessin 3D/2D et de tolérancement
  • Développer les normes de dessin et les meilleures pratiques
  • Participer au développement de nouveaux produits
  • Produire des instructions d’installation pour nos produits
  • Identifier et mettre en œuvre des opportunités de développement des normes et des automatisations CAO pour augmenter la précision et la productivité
  • Responsable de l’utilisation et de la maintenance des imprimantes 3D

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / SKILLSET:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position
  • DEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3D modeling and drawing of parts and assemblies (Creo or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Expert using Windows and Office software and tools.
  • AutoCAD 2D (an asset)
  • Experience with a PLM software for CAD management
  • Experience with technical drawing standards and geometric tolerancing, including best practices
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and documentation such as work orders, bills of materials, etc.

Responsibilities:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the implementation, configuration, integration, customization, and maintenance of the PLM Software
  • Create 3D and 2D drawings of components and assemblies according to manufacturing process and drawing standards.
  • Participate in the revision and modification of existing drawings.
  • Coach and train engineers in 3D/2D drawing best practices and tolerancing
  • Develop drawing standards and best practices
  • Participate in the development of new products.
  • Produce installation instructions for our products.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for development of standards and CAD automations to increase accuracy and productivity
  • Responsible for the 3D printers use and maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in new product development and product modification work.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, coordinators, and other team members to integrate modifications and specific needs
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Responsible for the quality and precision of his work
  • Develop solid models and detailed drawings of complex parts and assemblies for new product development.
  • Ensure that designs can be manufactured. As needed, propose design improvement to reduce cost and improve quality
  • Revise drawings based on feedback and necessary adjustments throughout the project
  • Ensure compliance with the design modification and approval process.
  • Creating CAD files in STEP, DXF, and other formats as needed.
  • Prepare artistic graphic work for product quotations, application sheets and catalog illustrations and/or visual aids for departmental use.
  • Work directly with the R&E team and other department to adequately document product design requirements.
  • Operate computers and use PTC and AutoCAD software.
  • Assist the R&E Manager and Coordinators in schedule maintenance by organizing the workflow.
  • Documentation of drawing revisions.
  • Train R&E department staff and facilitate their proficiency with engineering software.
  • Oversee the work of and mentor junior staff to support their development and improve their skills.
  • Responsible for the execution time of his own work. Participates in schedule updates
  • Attend technical meetings, conferences, and specialized courses in the area of responsibility.
  • Professionally represent PLP Canada in all interactions with clients and others.
