Description:
Maecon Infrastructure is a leading construction firm specializing in concrete restoration of bridges, commercial and industrial infrastructure. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Labourer to join our team and assist with on-site construction activities at various jobsites all throughout Nova Scotia.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Site Foreman, this position is responsible for performing a large variety of construction related tasks involving concrete demolition, placement, pouring and finishing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3+ years of construction experience working with concrete.
- Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
- Capable of handling/lifting heavy loads (more than 100 lbs).
- Must be reliable, punctual and possess a positive attitude.
- Can work under pressure to meet company deadlines.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in concrete construction.
- Comfortable working variable hours and travelling to various locations throughout Nova Scotia.
- Capable of carrying out repetitive activities in a physically demanding work environment.
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Able to work as a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, ensuring all tasks are being completed in a safe and timely manner.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable transportation to and from jobsites or pickup locations.

Responsibilities:
- Demolish, repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades
- Use of air operated tools such as jack hammers, chippers, basic hand tools, etc
- Assist with pouring and spreading concrete onto prepared surfaces, using tools such as rakes, shovels, and screeds to distribute and level the concrete.
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
- Participate and contribute to safety meetings.
- Perform various construction related tasks as instructed.
- Follow instructions from supervisors.
- Keep construction sites free of obstacles and hazards.
