The Trustee for Marquee Hotel Operations Pty Ltd trading as The Sofitel Brisbane Central is centrally located within the heart of Brisbane city. 416 elegantly appointed rooms and suites are complemented by the finest personal luxuries to make this one of Brisbane’s best accommodation experiences. The hotel features various F&B outlets, two fitness centres, Day Spa and fully flexible event spaces for up to 1100 delegates.
Job Description

In this full time role, you will organise and coordinate services for conferences, events, functions, banquets and seminars at Sofitel Brisbane Central. This includes:

  • promote conferences and events to potential customers
  • respond to enquiries and provide costing regarding conferences and events
  • meet with clients to discuss their needs, conduct site inspections and outline package options
  • regular client contact and correspondence to ensure successful coordination of the event
  • prepare event orders, action plans, and other relevant paperwork to effectively communicate client needs
  • arrange and coordinate services, such as conference facilities, catering, signage, displays, audiovisual equipment, accommodation, transport and social events for conference and events participants
  • organise registration of conference and events groups and participants
  • maximise conference and event space revenue by negotiating with clients to determine the type and costs of services to be provided within budget
  • understand revenue budgets, forecasts and what business can be regarded as confirmed
  • oversee work by contractors associated with the conference or event to ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreement
  • maintain high standards in presentation, consistency, accuracy and attention to detail with all responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A relevant Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or at least three years equivalent experience in a similar position
  • Experience in leading others and developing a high performing team
  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed
  • Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Guest focused and committed to providing exceptional service at all times
  • Highly responsible and reliable, achieving tasks efficiently, accurately and promptly
