Description:

Peppers Blue on Blue Resort situated on Magnetic Island located just 25 minutes by ferry from Townsville. The resort, overlooking the Coral Sea offers a range of guest rooms, suites, one, two and three bedroom apartments. Offering a large lagoon style pool and on-site dining at Boardwalk Restaurant & Bar, a favourite for both locals and visitors to the Island. On your days off, enjoy all the island & local area has to offer - hike, bike ride, fish or explore and dive the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park!
Purpose
As the Conference & Events Sales Manager, you will oversee and manage the sales and marketing efforts related to conferences, meetings, and events across multiple properties in North Queensland. Play a crucial part in maximising revenue, ensuring the success of such gatherings. Building and managing relationships with clients to drive return business will be at the core of your responsibilities. This role is based at Peppers Blue on Blue, Magnetic Island.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets by promoting and selling conference and event spaces, packages, and services to potential clients
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, event planners, and organisers to secure bookings and encourage repeat business
  • Conducting market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities in the conference and events industry
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns
  • Creating tailored event proposals and finalising contracts with clients, including terms, pricing, and event details
  • Collaborating with event planning and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution
  • Review and analyse client feedback and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance future events

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a C&E based Hotel environment with demonstrated precision in leadership
  • Creativity is key for designing unique event experiences and finding innovative solutions to challenges that may arise
  • Proficiency in budgeting, cost estimation, and financial management
  • Confident in negotiating with suppliers, vendors, and clients to establish favourable terms that benefit all parties involved
  • A strategic mindset, adept at orchestrating a wide range of events
  • You foster a can – do approach with impeccable attention to detail and exceptional time management skills
  • Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
