Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Digital Health Epic Connect team for a configuration Analyst with a focus on clinical coding as well as general analyst responsibilities within the Patient Access (PAS) application team. This role does not necessarily require a background in Epic, but a good understanding of the NHS and clinical workflows would be an advantage. Full training will be given in Epic for the relevant applications, and in the way the Connect programme operates between the two organisations. This role will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to progress from this Analyst role (band 6) and onwards to Senior Analyst (band 7) position within the Connect Analyst Framework.
This role has a specific focus on clinical coding and will require engagement with multiple stakeholders across the DHR team and the wider Trust. The core duties of this role will be working with the Performance and Clinical Coding teams and other application analysts to update and build workflows within the Connect (powered by Epic) system and to liaise with operational teams to understand their needs.
Whilst we do not expect candidates to have an Epic background, if shortlisted, you will need to undertake, and be successful in, the Epic aptitude test prior to being offered an interview.
The successful candidate will be expected to work core hours (9-5) and whilst there will be opportunities for agile working the successful candidate will be required to undertake some on-site working, which could be at any of the three main hospital sites for RMH and GOSH (Central London and Surrey).
The successful candidate will be required to undertake presentations of their build, create and present training documentation and work closely with other analysts, both within the Connect programme and the wider Epic community to help us provide the optimal DHR system for both organisations.

As an DHR Configuration Analyst the post holder is responsible for:

  • Assisting with the delivery of the Trust’s DHR system within a designated team
  • Gaining an DHR qualification through successfully completing the DHR training programme within a specified timeframe
  • Working in partnership with our partners, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Epic
  • Matching agreed workflows with those already built into the DHR system and/or configuring the DHR system using configuration tools to tailor the system
  • Analysing and suggesting ways to improve current workflows and working practices
  • Assisting with testing of the systems to ensure it is safe, usable, secure and robust
