Description:

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented Configuration Manager to help us in our mission by ensuring the seamless management of configuration changes and maintaining the integrity of our spacecraft systems.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In your capacity as a Configuration Manager, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

  • Driving and managing all configuration changes for Nyx and its subproducts.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for our configuration management tool, ensuring its proper use.
  • Acting as the main user of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Be the main focal point for onboarding and training of colleagues.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure configuration changes are accurately implemented and documented.
  • Implementing and maintaining configuration management processes in accordance with relevant standards (ECSS/NASA)
  • Overseeing all activities in our PLM system, including data cleanliness, data upload, and data input.
  • Driving together with the procurement team the configuration of the subcontractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols to meet the high standards required in space technology manufacturing.
  • Assisting in refining configuration management processes to support the scalability of capsule production.
  • Creating data packages for external reviews if needed.
  • Implementation of a system that creates ABCLs and CIDLs automatically.

In the role of Configuration Manager, ideally, you will have the following:

  • Proven experience in configuration management, preferably in a high-tech or innovative industry setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Competence in using modern configuration management and PLM software and systems.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and technologies.
  • A team player mindset with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with ECSS/NASA standards and quality regulations specific to technology and manufacturing industries is a plus as well as RFD/RFW/NCR process.
  • Experience with managing configuration changes in a spacecraft or aerospace environment is a plus
