OTIS is seeking Lift Installers/Adjusters to join our Auckland team and work across the Construction and Modernization areas of the New Zealand business.
About you
As a Lift installer/Adjuster, you will support the Construction Operations teams in Installing and Modernising lifts and conveying systems.
This position will report to the Project Manager for the Construction business and work closely with other Installers, Electricians, Adjusters, Trade Assistants, Field Engineers, and Construction Coordinators.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Installation / Modernisation and adjustment of the lifts, escalators, and travellators in accordance with company safety process & procedures and applicable field installation manuals.
- Perform work in accordance with the relevant lift industry codes.
- Complete time sheets correctly on a weekly basis.
- Maintain Company tools, equipment, and materials in good order and safeguard such property against damage or theft.
- Make yourself available for training when required.
- Adhere to Human Resources policies and always present a positive image of the Company.
- Responsible for complying with company Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact the environment or any employee.
- Maintain and work on the Quality System, including procedures and manuals.
- Attend IQP / customer/service handing over inspections on installation and modernization projects.
- Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service / IQP inspection in coordination with PM/ Supervisor.
- Implement Field Instructions / CI / PUI, which must change based on recommendations from factories in a timely manner.
- Make yourself available for work nationally if required - NZ/ Pacific Islands.
- Make sure the NZ electrical license ( full registration / Installer license related to the jobs undertaken by Otis ) is current all the time.
What you will need to be successful
- Prior experience in installation & adjustment of Lifts / Escalators / Travelators.
- Current New Zealand Electrical registration.
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Current driver’s license and willing to travel
- Ability to work unsupervised and has a strong work ethic & safety culture mindset
- Able to pass on information and skills through formal and informal training
- Ability to plan & prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner by taking ownership of each project’s time & cost constraints.
