JOB SCOPE:

The Construction Equipment Inspector/Technical Writer plays a pivotal role in the resale of construction machinery, combining technical expertise with exceptional communication skills. This position involves meticulous inspection of various types of equipment, analysis of mechanical and computerized systems, evaluation of structural integrity, and the production of comprehensive, customer-friendly inspection reports that facilitate informed purchasing decisions. The inspector/writer’s work directly impacts customer satisfaction, sales success, and the company’s reputation for quality and transparency.
We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Construction Equipment Inspector / Technical Writer to join our team.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field. Technical certification in construction equipment maintenance is a strong asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in construction equipment inspection, maintenance, or repair. Technical writing experience is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • In-depth knowledge of construction equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspects construction machinery like excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and mobile cranes to resale these machines as per industry standards
  • Inspects computerized and mechanical components of construction equipment to identify faults and give a detailed analysis and overall condition of the machine
  • Examines structural components of the machines for structural integrity and provides feedback accordingly in a customer-friendly language
  • Prepares inspection reports documenting findings on related work activities
  • Perform detailed inspections of a wide range of construction machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, mobile cranes, and more.
  • Utilize industry-standard checklists and procedures to assess the condition of each machine, covering all aspects of operation and functionality.
  • Investigate and diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computerized components of construction equipment.
  • Leverage technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues and assess their severity.
  • Determine the root cause of problems and recommend appropriate solutions.Examine the structural components of machines, including frames, undercarriages, booms, and attachments, for signs of wear, damage, or weakness.
  • Evaluate the overall structural integrity of each machine and identify any potential safety concerns.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports that clearly articulate the condition of each machine, using language that is easily understood by customers with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Highlight key findings, potential issues, and recommended actions in a way that is informative, transparent, and instills confidence in potential buyers.
  • Tailor reports to meet the specific needs of individual customers, addressing their concerns and priorities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction equipment inspection and maintenance.Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, reporting formats, and customer communication.
