Description:
Located in the lower mainland, we are seeking a highly motivated, committed and organized Construction Estimator in a fast-paced environment.
Masonry estimating background mandatory.
The successful candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of building concepts, strong communication and problem solving abilities and be extremely detail orientated. The company undertakes a large amount of repeat business and pride themselves on retaining long term relationships with their clients.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Experience: 2 years or more in construction industry (Masonry – Exterior Cladding and CMU)
Tasks
- Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs.
- Prepare quantity take-off using AutoCAD / CostX.
- Prepare and analyze estimates for general expenses and overheads.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
- Project cash flow and financing requirements.
- Estimate pre-contract costs
- Utilize quantity take-off procedures
- Advise on tendering procedures
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
- Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors.
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Analyze drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate tender process with clients, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, etc.
- Create and issue quotes/proposal submission documents.
- AutoCad: Execution and revision of construction plans.
Qualifications & Requirements * Project Construction Management /Engineering / Estimating diploma or degree
- Knowledge of multi-trade disciplines an asset
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Cost Control: experience working with and adhering to budgets
- Experience using email and Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and to make decisions using sound judgement

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
