About the role
Are you a seasoned Construction Manager ready to lead a dedicated team through the final 14 months of a major highways project? Balfour Beatty is looking for a highly skilled individual to join our team and take charge of delivering the A63 project in Hull to completion.
This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to transition to other significant major projects within the business upon the project’s successful conclusion. You will report directly to the Project Director and play a key role in delivering infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact.
What you’ll be doing
ON-SITE COMMITMENT:
Due to the hands-on nature of this role, you will be required on-site a minimum of 4 days per week. This ensures full visibility and engagement with the project team, enabling you to effectively lead, manage, and deliver the A63 project to successful completion.

- Extensive experience as a Construction Manager, particularly in major highways or infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams towards project completion.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the construction team to deliver the final stages of the A63 highways project, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Oversee all aspects of project management, including scheduling, budget control, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective project execution.
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Provide on-site leadership and technical direction, solving construction challenges and ensuring the project stays on track.
- Engage with clients and key stakeholders, offering regular progress updates and ensuring milestones are met.
