ABOUT YOU:
We’re looking for a strong leader and an excellent team player, having successfully managed and developed teams at all levels.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive Civil construction knowledge, a wealth of construction health, safety and sustainability knowledge and a proven track record of delivering sites safely, leading multiple teams to achieve delivery objectives.
Working on site, we’d like you to have SMSTS, First Aid and your Street Works Supervisor qualification. However, we will support you in covering any training needs.
Access to your own transport is desirable due to the remote location of some of our sites, which are not accessible by public transport.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.

Responsibilities:
An opportunity has arisen for a Construction Manager to join the team at Galliford Try.
In your role as Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of Capital Maintenance Civil projects alongside the Project Manager and Project Team to deliver a safe working site.
Day-to-day, it will be your role to lead and manage a skilled and highly motivated Civils Team, overcoming the everchanging challenges in the workplace on multiple sites, to support the team to deliver projects on time, on budget and to required standards.
Your role will be key in ensuring all operations are carried out in an efficient, safe and economic manner, with a view to the protection of the company’s interests, client satisfaction and repeat business. Conducting daily briefings, RAMS and control measures as necessary to ensure standards are high and compliance with South West Water specifications are being adhered to.
Your role forms an essential link in the supply chain, involving effective liaison and communication between the client, external consultants and relevant stakeholders. You’ll show flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build relationships. Demonstrating strong ethical standards with openness and honesty.
You will play a pivotal part in fostering a continuous improvement and teamwork culture by actively seeking input from all members of the team. Inspiring, motivating and leading to maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability. Guiding the business in an integrated and collaborative manner through the civils phase of projects.
