LEGAL EXEC / CONSTRUCTION / COMPLIANCE / RISK PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBLE FOR COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS and REGULATORY PROCEDURES

We are looking for a Construction Paralegal to join us in either our Sheffield or London studio to identify and manage potential legal, commercial, insurance, and compliance-related risks. Working with members of the project teams across the company, you will regularly disseminate information received on new forms of contract, consider compliance and regulatory procedures, and advise internally on commercial and construction-related matters.

Skills & Knowledge requirements

  • An understanding of Contract Law, or; a vast understanding of Project Management would be desirable
  • An understanding of the construction industry and understanding of construction contracts, commercial contracts, associated risks, and internal compliance procedures.
  • The ability to draft legal documents.
  • Must thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, able to project manage and prioritise competing demands.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence and negotiate.
  • Have notable attention to detail.
  • Possess commercial acumen and confidence in their decision-making.
  • Possess a calm demeanour under pressure and an ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with peers and seniority.
  • Have a flexible and pragmatic attitude and a proven ability to multi-task.
  • Be able to deal confidently with and build strong relationships with senior business colleagues.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have or be working towards the LPC or SQE
  • Ideally, a minimum of 2:1 classification in LLB Honours Degree / Law Degree, or; Quantity Surveying or Project Management Degree or associated experience.
  • Minimum of 3 A-Levels or equivalent
  • GSCE’s with a minimum of Level 2 / GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics
  • 1 year in a Quantity Surveying role, or a Commercial or Construction Paralegal role, or Regulatory and Compliance Associate role
