The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is looking for Plumber’s Apprentice/Helper for its renovation projects in Quesnel, BC.
Reporting to the foreman, our apprentice plumber must assist the plumber in all plumbing tasks and that all work that must comply with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow plumber’s instruction while working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to follow the instructions of the foreman/supervisor and have a minimum of 2 year of experience in construction
  • Knowledge of Federal/Provincial building codes is an asset.
  • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
  • Must be able to climb scaffoldings.

Responsibilities:

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the repair, and replacement of domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing systems and accessories.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, and waste and drainage systems is an asset but not required.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools, such as levels and plumb bobs.
  • Cut and bore holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, benders, and threading machines.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment, according to the specifications and requirements of the plumbing system.
  • Check pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and other specialized testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing system problems and identify appropriate solutions.

  • Perform other duties as required
