QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- A Degree/Diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, Interior Design, or a related field preferred
- 3-5 years of design project coordination experience within the restaurant & franchise industry, either on the consultant, contractor or owner side preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite, Blubeam Revu, MS Office suite
- Fundamental understanding of commercial development, design and construction industries including processes, procedures, drawings and permits in all provinces
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and timelines while maintaining an excellent attention to detail
- Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities:
Key member of the Construction Team, reporting to VP of Design & Construction, providing Project Design Coordination support in the following areas:
- Support new store development, renovation and rollouts by creating layouts and renderings for proposed and existing restaurants by developing design concepts, source materials and finishes, and overall design execution while supporting Franchisees
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager, contractors, franchisees, trades, vendors, and all internal stakeholders for each project
- Proficient and accurate in reviewing and marking up millwork shop drawings, kitchen equipment and dining room layouts and coordinating complete building drawing sets for projects while maintaining top level company brand standards
- Manage all permit and license applications and approvals required for projects such as but not limited to building permits, business and liquor licenses, health and fire department approvals Nationally
- Knowledgeable with commercial kitchen equipment specifications and mechanical, electrical and plumbing requirements to provide value engineering and support to the company on rollouts and new equipment proposals
- Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures, operational standards and legal guidelines
- Some travel may be required
- Administrative tasks and any other duties assigned by VP of Design & Construction
