Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established group of project managers within the council’s Built Environment team, supporting internal clients to deliver a range of construction projects and programmes – from the council’s ‘own build’ housing programme – to civil engineering, public realm, community, and various other capital and revenue-based schemes.
The postholder will be responsible for all aspects associated with the preparation, design, construction, supervision, financial control and certification of construction and civil engineering works undertaken within a portfolio of projects, including liaison and cross-council collaboration with officers of other departments/divisions and other authorities/bodies as necessary.
The postholder will be organised, committed to quality, and able to use their own initiative – complementing a well-grounded knowledge of construction practices and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.
As a member of CIOB, RICS or similar, you will have demonstrable programme, technical, and project management experience of a varied range of projects.
Crawley is an exciting place to work, with a vibrant town centre and excellent transport connections. You will be based at our Town Hall office, in Crawley town centre with excellently designed spaces that facilitate collaborative working. We have a hybrid working set up which allows a balance of working from home with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of two days per week.
