Responsibilities:
An exciting and highly sought after opportunity has arisen to join the Veterinary Team at RSPCA Victoria Burwood East site, contributing to the achievement of the best possible welfare outcome for every animal in our care.
Life at RSPCA Victoria is varied and exciting. Our Veterinarians are responsible for the provision of quality veterinary services for shelter and private animals in clinics, with proceedings from the private clinic going towards supporting our shelters.
You will be working as part of a team alongside experienced Veterinarians, supported by our Nurses and Animal Attendants. We encourage our Vets to follow their special interests from exotics, to surgery, to critical care, to ophthalmology to dentistry- anything that would help a shelter patient is an area in which we will support advancement. You will be provided with continuous education opportunities through participating in medicine rounds, orthopaedic rounds, journal club and MMRs.
We like to train our Vets to do more than the routine so our shelter animals can get the treatment they deserve and need. We have a strong emphasis on team culture, work life balance and mental health. But by far one of the best aspects of working alongside likeminded Vets and Nurses who are dedicated to speaking up on behalf of the underdogs (and cats, and exotics) of the animal world.
