The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB - s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region - greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. Te Korowai Whariki services include regional forensic and rehabilitation services covering the Central region while the intellectual disability services extend the length and breadth of the country from six bases located in Whangarei, Auckland, Cambridge, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Consultant Addiction Specialist at our Tūhonohono Addiction Services.
The role also involves working closely with case managers and other staff within the service, to ensure collaborative care. The Consultant is also responsible for liaison and support of primary care providers as well as NGO partners. The role also entails supporting the medical development of this service and liaising with other services/hospital departments as required.
Tūhonohono Addiction Services (Community Alcohol and Drug Service, Opioid Treatment Service, provision of the Managed Withdrawal Service and Co-Existing Disorder Service) is a multidisciplinary team comprising of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, specialist medical staff, and administration staff. We are a collective of skilled professionals that value working in a client and whānau centred manner, including cultural and community connections, to deliver high quality services to those we work with.
